- Check your air filter
When your air filter is clogged or the installation is loose, a lot of car trouble can occur. The air filter locks out dust, pollen and other contaminants to keep the engine healthy. But when dirty, the air filter will reduce airflow to the engine, causing your vehicle to lose power and reduce fuel performance and fuel economy. It is recommended that you change the air filter every 12,000 miles.
- Headlight check
When parking in front of a flat surface, turn on the headlights once a month to check whether the two headlights are working properly and in the correct position. Visually inspect the two turn signals by walking around your car and check the stop lights. You can even have a friend stand behind the car when using the brake to ensure that the brake lights work properly.
