I am gonna break each point down and we are gonna share our thoughts by the end of this post. Feel free to share what you skipped at your first month!
Set Your goals!
I know how it can be when you start blogging about .. about…something and then you jump from one planner to the other, then from a to do list to the other and yet you don’t get nothing accomplished.
It’s really frustrating and towards the end it gets discouraging.
If you can set smaller goals then you will conquer bigger dreams! (Bam, Quote!)
Some of the goals i set is to post a blog post a week. Seems like it’s no big deal but honestly, ask your auntie when was the last time she published something on her gardening blog?
Take baby steps and you will get there.
Alto? Tenor? No…Soprano?? Find your blogging voice!
Oh yes you need to get some vocal training and i don’t mean for singing this time!
Your blog needs a voice and guess what?
Popular posts you might enjoy!
It’s gonna be you unique voice.
How do you do that? Well just be yourself and write just as you want to write. So many times we feel pressured to become this perfect writer that is always on points with new words every time.
Ummm.. i don’t even remember when was the last time i wrote a new word…(maybee..oh well..) but it’s not about me it’s about you so i want you to sit down.
Think about what makes you feel comfortable and just speak (or i should say write) as you want.
People want to read a blog that belongs to a human and not a perfect robot!
Be Organized (Editorial Calendar)
Well well well… what do we have here, a organization talk.
I installed a wordpress editorial calendar and can you believe i haven’t used it effectively?
Just saw the other day a amazing video showing how someone can benefit by using a editorial calendar.
If you are like me and are posting as they type, you need to sit down.
Think about your life and go get you a virtual editorial calendar.
I’m gonna work my *** off to schedule my posts using it and so should you.
Less stress and it also believes you of having to worry about your blog activity.
Read Success Stories to keep you motivated
Yessss I love success stories! One of the things i love doing is taking my iphone and listening to podcasts such as Problogger and few others that share tips and trick about blogging and not only that,
Many ordinary people like you and me share their story and how they because who they are today.
Find your motivation through other people’s success.
If they can do it, you can do even better.
Signup on Pinterest
Now a days we all have our personal pinterest account that we surf and browse all day.. non stop.. pinning and pinning on endless boards.
But what if i told you that you can use your pinterest account to drive traffic to your newly made blog?
Yes Google wont visit you until it trusts you and you could use pinterest traffic to push your blog and get it started.
If you want to learn more check my post on How to Use Pinterest to Drive Traffic to Your Blog.
Create Social Accounts for your blog.
Don’t be like me that act and disappear the next few days.
Your social presence is super important and working your way to create social accounts for your blog will benefit you in the long run.
Many readers will need to find your post via twitter, others might not use twitter but Facebook will get them.
The options are countless so remember to have fun and be strategic at the same time!
Try Google Adsense, your pocket will thank you!
Some start a blog because they find it fun, Others because they want to start a new hobby and there are those that want to have fun and income from it.
There is nothing wrong in doing so, after all writing blog posts is done using your energy, mind and heart. You deserve to be rewarded in whatever way you want.
Placing ads on your blog is a passive way of accomplishing that without stressing out.
It allows you to focus on growing your blog and at the same time your pocket!
Comment on other blogs on your niche!
This is quite interesting and refreshing. When you’re a new blogger you need to find similar blogs that share the same interest and read their posts.
You will be amazed on how many ideas you’ll get plus you will make new friends.
It’s not that nice when you’re all alone blogging with no one to share your mistakes, trials and successes.
That’s why going the extra mile and reading other blogs following by you dropping a honest comment will bring only but good results for you and your blog.
Please, please pleaseee.. Don’t give up. Really!
Okay i almost gave up when i was past my first month. Why?
Simply because i didn’t have a solid visual idea of what i was doing.
Google wasn’t cooperating and bringing me traffic.
I didn’t know what to write about…
All that made me almost quit.
But hey, I’m still here and that’s the reason you’re reading my post.
Because kept pushing through.
It’s gonna be hard at times, but please keep chasing the dream.
You will be glad you did.
Create your Newsletter Freebie!
Yes as we speak i don’t have one and i know i’m doing a big nono, believe my i’m working on it.
I really believe that creating a opt in freebie it really necessary but i also think that doing a very good research is even better.
You don’t want to end up working hours on a freebie just to find out that no one is signing up, why?
Simply because no one want’s to download something that they are not interested in.
Find what your niche and audience want and give it to them and they will also give back to you!
Practice SEO the right way!
Yes, i need you to go download and install Yoast wordpress plugin. This tool will help you on your SEO baby steps.
SEO might seem to not be yielding fruits in the beginning of you blogging carrier but it’s always advisable to have it at the back of your mind.
When your blog get’s discovered by google, all that SEO effort will pay of.
Don’t forget Google Analytics!
Tracking your visitors might seem like a joke when no one visits your blog at just the first month but you shouldn’t be fooled by that. Google analytics is one of the most important tools you need in order to track your blog visitors.
Which country drives the most traffic, the source of your traffic.
When you know where your traffic is coming from it helps you focus on what bring in the most rather than spreading your wings everywhere.
I used to try to share my posts on Google+,facebook, pinterest,twitter..you name it..
At the end of the day you will be exhausted and too tired to get your blog running.
Focus on the right source and that’s why i totally recommend google analytics to be installed as soon as possible. If you can set smaller goals then you will conquer bigger dreams! Click To Tweet
